Hey ladies, my name is Valerie the creator of the blog entitled Poundcake. The word Poundcake as it pertains to me was developed years ago as a stage name I used at a spoken word contest I was entering. I was reciting a poem about being a thick sista and Poundcake described who I feel I was then and now. A thick sista that loves all things girly, sweet and beautiful in life. I have fallen off the weight loss wagon more than a couple times over the years. But I still never completely give up the journey to become my best self and I would love to have you follow me as I continue on my way.
